The Problem
Currently we are working on a project that will examine how the current coronavirus crisis has impacted the way in which the public perceives public health organization. We are using the Judge-Advisor System as a theoretical framework to explore how recommendations on mask wearing during the pandemic impacted people’s decision making, anxiety, and trust in the “advisors”. Particularly when there are contradictory statements between the Trump administration and official health experts like the CDC. One key part of this analysis will also be how political views impact trust and behavior.
The Approach
We plan to conduct a survey via Qualtrics aiming for about 250 participants (national sample) to see how the specific variables from JAS predict people's mask wearing decisions.
